What if the uncertainty you are feeling is part of a transition you haven’t yet been able to name?

There are moments when the life we know begins to feel different. A role changes, a relationship shifts, our children grow, or something we once worked towards no longer feels quite right. We may sense that something needs to change, without knowing what comes next or where to begin.

Join The Frequency for a free masterclass exploring the Hero’s Journey as a way to understand these moments, recognise what they may be asking of us, and consider how we can support ourselves and others through them.

When the familiar no longer fits:

Perhaps you are navigating a transition yourself. Or perhaps you are supporting a child, a partner, a team or a community through change, trying to offer steadiness while finding your own way.

Our instinct may be to search for answers, restore certainty or get things back to how they were. Yet some transitions ask us to pause long enough to recognise that we are moving towards something new.

The Hero’s Journey gives us a way to explore that passage. Through story, everyday examples and a guided reflection, we will consider what it means to leave the familiar, meet the challenges of the unknown, and bring what we discover back into our relationships and daily lives.

In this FREE Masterclass we will explore:

  • Recognising the call to change: how a transition may begin with disruption, restlessness or a quiet sense that something no longer fits.

  • Finding our way through uncertainty: the place of challenge, support and relationship when the next step is not yet clear.

  • Bringing the learning home: why the journey includes integrating what we have discovered into how we live.

  • Supporting others through transition: what this perspective can offer parents, educators, facilitators and leaders.

You will be invited to reflect on a transition in your own life, consider the support you need and identify one practical next step. You can participate privately; there is no expectation to share your story.

Who this masterclass is for

This conversation is for adults who want to navigate change with greater awareness, and for those whose lives or work involve supporting others.

You may be a parent watching your child move towards a new stage of life, an educator supporting young people, a coach or facilitator accompanying others through uncertainty, or a leader navigating change within a team. You may simply recognise that you are standing at a threshold yourself.

No previous knowledge of the Hero’s Journey or Rites of Passage is needed. Despite its name, the Hero’s Journey is open to people of all genders.

A framework for real life

We will draw on Joseph Campbell’s Hero’s Journey alongside the Rites of Passage framework of separation, transition and integration, exploring how these perspectives can help us make sense of change.

We approach this work with respect for the many communities whose Rites of Passage remain living traditions. Our focus is a secular, practical framework for reflection and support, with cultural humility and respect for locally held knowledge and practices.

About Paula Conroy

Paula Conroy is the founder of The Frequency, a Transformation Specialist and a Senior Facilitator with the Rites of Passage Institute. Her work supports people through transitions in their lives, families, leadership and communities.

Drawing on her background in corporate leadership and her experience facilitating rites of passage, Paula brings a grounded, relational approach to the question of how we meet change—and how we become better prepared to support others through it.

For those who want to take the next step

The webinar will also include an introduction to the Rites of Passage Leadership Training, taking place from 5–7 March 2027 in the Elgin River Valley, Western Cape, facilitated by Paula Conroy and Dr Arne Rubinstein OAM.

This residential training offers the opportunity to explore the framework through facilitated experience and practice, including story, listening, meaningful challenge, vision and honouring. It is for adults who want to develop their capacity to support transitions within their families, schools, workplaces or communities.

You are welcome to attend the free webinar whether or not you are considering the training.
