WHEN LIFE CALLS FOR CHANGE
The Hero’s Journey as a Rite of Passage
Watch the Replay (Before It Closes)
How do we make sense of life’s turning points—and become better equipped to support others through them?
Join Paula Conroy, founder of The Frequency, for this experiential masterclass exploring transition, transformation and the Hero’s Journey through a Rites of Passage lens. Bring a pen and paper to reflect on your own journey, recognise what you’ve learned and consider what comes next.
This Is For You If...
You're leading others whether in a school, organisation, community, corporate environment, or family, perhaps even yourself, and you sense something's missing.
Your people are disconnected, unmotivated, or unclear about who they're becoming.
You want to create moments that matter. Passages that guide them through life's transitions. A culture where people genuinely belong.
But you don't know how to make it real.
You're not alone.
Many of us resonate with the necessity for change and the absence of a practical and accessible framework in which we can navigate this change, individually and collectively as a diverse community.
For most of human history, cultures around the world used rites of passage to guide individuals through life's major transitions. These processes helped people:
Move from adolescence into adulthood
Step into responsibility and leadership
Develop deeper self-awareness
Understand their role within community
In modern society, many of these structures have disappeared. The result is that people often navigate life's most important transitions alone, without guidance, support, or clear markers of growth.
Meet: Rites of Passage for Modern Times
A 3-day immersive leadership training designed to teach you how to design and facilitate transformative experiences that create belonging, clarity, and purpose in any community or organisation. The core structure of rites of passage and how to apply it across many areas of life.
This isn't theory. This is the framework Dr Arne Rubinstein and Paula Conroy have used to impact over 450,000 people globally. Supporting young people, parents, educators, and leaders to navigate life's key thresholds with greater awareness, resilience, and connection.
The training combines experiential learning, group processes, and practical frameworks that can immediately be applied in real-world settings.
What You'll Learn Inside
DAY 1
The Power of Story and Safe Spaces
Embark on your journey by stepping into the role of both storyteller and listener. Discover how to use the power of story to pass on wisdom and knowledge, foster connection, and create transformative experiences. You'll explore the foundations of the Rites of Passage Framework and learn how to build safe, supportive spaces where real growth can happen.
DAY 2
Challenge and Resilience
You'll experience and understand the role of challenge in any Rite of Passage. Learn how to design meaningful challenges that help participants grow in courage, resilience, and self-belief. You'll gain tools to provide the guidance needed for people to step beyond their comfort zones in a safe and empowering way.
DAY 3
Bringing the Vision Home
The final day is about integration, taking what you've learned and preparing to bring it into your own life, family, or community. You'll craft a clear vision for how to apply the Rites of Passage Framework in your unique context, and leave with practical steps to create long-lasting impact.
Plus: Connect with other like-minded leaders on their own path. Become more inspired from their aspirations and make new connections. You'll never feel alone in this work.

Listen to the voices of those who have experienced the training.
Through their stories, you'll feel what has shifted in themselves, in their leadership, and in their understanding of how this work can ripple out to strengthen communities for generations to come.
STEPPING INTO LEADERSHIP: STORIES FROM THE RITES OF PASSAGE TRAINING
Past participants share what they experienced during the Rites of Passage Leadership Training: the circle, the challenges, and the confidence to guide others through life's transitions in their own schools, families and communities.
Walking Together: Rites of Passage with the Butchulla Community
This project reflects the heart of The Rites of Passage Institute’s work—walking alongside communities, schools and families to support young people through intentional, culturally grounded Rites of Passage. Developed in collaboration with local leaders, Elders and facilitators, the work honours place, story and relationship, recognising that healthy adulthood doesn’t emerge by accident but through guidance, belonging and challenge.
VOICES FROM OUR COMMUNITY
A few reflections from those who have attended the training.
"I did the leadership training almost 4 years ago and it was a huge catalyst in my life. What I learned has guided me in how I show up with my friends and family, and at work. It's given me a chance to understand what is important in my life, and to support others through difficult or even positive experiences where they need a little extra guidance. It has changed my life for the better."
— MANDY, SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETER AND FACILITATOR
"At no point in that first leadership training did I think the person going through the rite of passage was going to be me. I thought I was learning how to facilitate that space for children, and instead I went through a deep transformation myself. I have not been the same. It has also transformed the way I run rites of passage and adventures for children, and even the conversations I have with them. It wasn't always easy, but it was the best thing I could have done for myself."
— NAT, SCHOOL TEACHER
"My biggest takeaway was that we all have gifts and talents that want to be seen by the world. For someone like me, this training opened up a sense of freedom within that wasn't there before. It was the perfect immersive experience for building a better relationship with yourself, and it also equipped me with practical skills to hold group situations I'm passionate about."
— MARCUS, PHD GRADUATE, COMPANY SECRETARIAT AND MEN'S HEALTH ADVOCATE

The Leaders Who Create Real Change
Don't Wait.
For most of human history, cultures used rites of passage to guide people through life's major transitions.
In modern society, these structures have disappeared and people navigate the most important moments of their lives alone.
This training reintroduces this powerful framework in a modern and practical form.
If you feel the call to step more consciously into your own evolution, and to support others in theirs, this is your invitation.
Your people are waiting for someone to show them how to navigate life's transitions with awareness, resilience, and connection.
That someone is you.
